At 6:36 p.m. on May 16, 2024, Employee #1 and Employee #2 were waiting inside their concrete mixer trucks at a construction site when a severe storm with high winds exceeding 100 mph passed through the area. The storm caused a lattice boom crane to collapse onto Employee #1's and Employee #2's trucks. Employee #1 was killed as a result of the collapse, while Employee #2 sustained minor injuries and was treated without hospitalization.
