Employee injures finger when pipe falls on hand
At 9:11 a.m. on December 31, 2019, an employee was manually rolling pipe onto a rack to be picked up by a forklift. A pipe that was too short for the rack fell off. Just before falling off, the employee stuck part of his hand into the pipe. His hand was caught between the falling pipe and the rack. The employee sustained unspecified injuries to his fingers. The employee was hospitalized and required surgery.
Employee is struck by falling blowout preventer and sustains
At 7:35 a.m. on March 19, 2018, an employee and coworkers were disassembling a blowout preventer (BOP). During disassembly, the employee reached down toward the bottom of the BOP to investigate a blockage. The BOP dropped and struck the employee's right arm between the wrist and elbow. The employee sustained a laceration and fracture and was hospitalized.
